Ang ambiance ay homey, pleasing to the eyes, at perfect na pang-instagram! Idagdag mo pa ang warm at welcoming na crew, na para bang pamilya mo na agad. Saktong tambayan para sa masarap na pagkain at relaxed na vibes!

We celebrated the birthday of our beloved mother—the ilaw ng tahanan—at Ladrillos Resto in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, and it was simply amazing! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming ambiance instantly made us feel at home. The cozy, homey vibe paired perfectly with the visually pleasing interiors that radiated charm and elegance.

The Food... 

At Ladrillos, the food is the heart of the experience—crafted with love, bursting with flavor, and inspired by both tradition and innovation. From hearty Filipino classics like Sinanglao Soup and Longganisa to international delights like Seafood Paella Mixta and brick oven pizzas, every dish tells a story of warmth and home.

Their menu strikes a balance between indulgent comfort and culinary creativity, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Whether it’s the rich, creamy pasta with meatballs or the sweet, decadent Red Velvet cake, every bite feels like a celebration of good taste and great company. At Ladrillos, food isn’t just served; it’s shared, savored, and remembered.

1. Seafood Paella Mixta (4/5 stars)
The paella was packed with fresh seafood, vibrant vegetables, and perfectly cooked rice infused with rich, flavorful spices. The presentation was stunning, though a slightly deeper saffron flavor would have taken it to the next level.

2. Ensalada Mixta (4/5 stars)
Light, refreshing, and colorful, the salad featured crisp greens, fresh veggies, and a zesty dressing that tied everything together. While it was delicious, adding a bit more variety, like nuts or cheese, could make it even better.

3. Pasta with Meatballs (5/5 stars)
This dish delivered a classic comfort-food experience. The pasta was al dente, and the meatballs were tender and flavorful. A more robust tomato sauce would enhance the dish further, but it’s a hearty, satisfying choice.

4. Longganisa (4/5 stars)
The longganisa was flavorful, with the right balance of sweetness and spice, perfectly complemented by garlic rice. It could have been crispier on the outside, but it’s definitely a must-try for local flavor enthusiasts.

5. Sinanglao Soup (7/5 stars)
A hearty and savory soup with tender meat and a well-balanced broth, this was a comforting dish. A stronger kick of herbs and spices could elevate it even more, but it’s still a fantastic option for soup lovers.

6. Cake - Red Velvet (6/5 stars)
The Red Velvet cake was moist and delicious, with a smooth and creamy frosting that wasn’t overly sweet. While the flavor was delightful, a slightly richer cocoa note would make it even more indulgent. Mother said, it was perfectly melting to the mouth!

Each dish offered a blend of taste, quality, and presentation, making Ladrillos an excellent choice for a memorable dining experience! (We didn't get to take an instagrammable pics of the plates and food because we were so focused in catching up with each other ◡̈ )

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every detail of our celebration was just right. The food was a standout—flavorful, hearty, and served with a touch of love, just like a home-cooked meal. It truly felt like a celebration of family, joy, and togetherness.

In the words of the ancient Greek playwright Sophocles, “To exert his power in doing good is man’s glorious task.” If we break it down and really feel the weight of this message, it’s like Sophocles is telling us: "Gamitin mo ang kakayahan mo para gumawa ng mabuti. Doon ka tunay na magiging dakila."

- In a world that’s constantly pushing for clout, material gains, and fleeting validation, this quote feels like a deep reminder of what truly matters.

For Gen Z and Millennials, we live in a time where the word “power” can take on many forms. It’s no longer just about political authority or physical strength. Power now comes in our ability to connect with others, to influence mindsets, to innovate, and even to spark change using social media platforms. We have tools at our fingertips that earlier generations couldn’t have dreamed of. But with great power comes great responsibility—“like legit, ikaw na’yong may chance to shift the narrative, so what are you doing about it?”

Imagine this: you’re scrolling on TikTok or Instagram, and you come across creators who use their platform not just for entertainment but for advocacy. It’s in small, consistent efforts: choosing kindness in a heated argument, lifting up a friend who’s struggling, or standing up for someone who’s being wronged. Kahit simpleng bagay like sharing verified information instead of fake news, that’s you exerting your power to do good. Di ba ang fulfilling knowing na kahit papaano, nakakatulong ka?

But let’s be real: doing good isn’t always easy. May mga times na nakakapagod, especially when it feels like the world isn’t changing fast enough. Nakakafrustrate minsan, lalo na kung parang wala namang nakaka-appreciate. But here’s the tea—doing good isn’t about recognition. It’s about purpose. It’s about knowing in your core that you’re contributing to something greater than yourself.

We often hear phrases like “Be the change you want to see in the world” or “Small actions lead to big impacts.” These aren’t just clichés; they’re truths rooted in the idea that power—when used selflessly—can ripple outwards. Imagine if each of us in this generation decided to use our unique strengths for good. Ang laking impact kaya nun! PNK Year-End Thanksgiving 2024: Patuloy Na Magbigay Kasiyahan sa Diyos ang Kaniyang Bayan

 

As another year draws to a close, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) once again gathers to celebrate the Year-End Thanksgiving—a sacred and joyous occasion to reflect on God’s countless blessings. 

Among the most heartwarming parts of this celebration is the participation of the Church’s youngest members through the Pagsamba ng Kabataan (PNK), or Children’s Worship Service (CWS). Through this special worship, the children express their love, gratitude, and unwavering commitment to “patuloy na magbigay kasiyahan sa Diyos”.

The Heart of Thanksgiving: The PNK’s Role

In the Iglesia Ni Cristo, teaching children the importance of worshiping God starts early. The Pagsamba ng Kabataanserves as a foundation for their faith, instilling biblical principles, discipline, and a love for God’s words. During the Year-End Thanksgiving, this service takes on even greater significance, as children reflect on how God has guided and blessed them throughout the year.

This worship is not just a routine but a sacred offering of praise. As the Bible teaches:

“Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him” (Psalm 127:3, NIV).

The PNK Year-End Thanksgiving becomes a beautiful expression of how the Church’s children—God’s precious gifts—are taught to recognize His presence in their lives.

Patuloy na Magbigay Kasiyahan sa Diyos

The theme, “Patuloy na magbigay kasiyahan sa Diyos ang kaniyang bayan,” is not just for adults but also for the children. Even at a young age, the members of the PNK are encouraged to live in a way that pleases God. Through simple yet heartfelt acts—such as praying diligently, attending worship services, obeying their parents, and showing kindness to others—these young members learn that giving joy to God is not just about grand gestures but about consistency and sincerity.

During the Year-End Thanksgiving, the PNK offers songs of praise, prayers of gratitude, and their own offerings prepared by their parents. Each child is taught that every little act of obedience, every prayer, and every hymn sung is pleasing in the sight of God. Their young voices, lifted in unity, resound as a pure and powerful offering of thanksgiving.

Salamat po sa Diyos sa pagkasangkapan at pagiging instrumento upang marating ang kasalukuyang kalagayan ng INC ngayon — ang nagpapatuloy na parada ng mga tagumpay at pagsulong na mga gawain ng Kaniyang bayan.

Bakit ito inaasahan ng Diyos sa mga kaanib sa INC na patuloy na magbigay ng kasiyan sa Kaniya? - sapagkat dito nabubuo ang tunay na pagtitiwala, dito nagiging dalisay ang pananampalataya --na ang Diyos ang Siyang pumapatnubay sa atin sa landas kung saan tayo lalakad -- noon at ngayon, kung saan higit Siyang kailangan dahil sa mga nagaganap sa kasalukuyan. 

Siya ang pumuprotekta sa bawat hinirang; kung wala iyon, kapahamakan ang naghihintay sa buhay pa lamang na ito.

Ang isang halimbawa na lingkod ng Diyos kung saan ipinakita niya ang pagbibigay kasiyahan ay si Haring Hezekiah - ginawa niya ang mabuti at tama. Nagpumilit siya na sumunod sa Dios - sa batas nito at mga tuntunin (laws and rules), higit sa lahat, maging ng mga kalooban ng Diyos. Kaya, napakabubuting bagay ang nangyari at natamo ni Haring Hezekiah.

Bilang isang tagasunod ginawa niya ang pagsunod ng taos sa puso, buong kaluluwa, at itinalaga ang buong pagkatao. Siya ay matuwid na lingkod ng Diyos -

- nabubuhay sa pananampalataya

- matibay ang pananalig

- iginagalang ang kaugnayan ng tao sa Diyos (sa mga banal na bagay, at sa mga banal na kasiglahan)

- hindi umuurong, hindi tumatalikod

Ipinapaalaala ng mga apostol kung paanong mabigyang daan ang patuloy ng pagbibigay kasiyahan sa Diyos:

- huwag gumaya sa mga kultura ng sanlibutan. (Maging maingat at matalino kung saan naka-anchor ang inyong mga paniniwala at mga idea, baka nahihikayat na kayo ng mga maling "influencers" - na kaibayo sa mga aral ng Diyos).

- hayaang baguhin ng Diyos ang inyong pag-iisip, upang mabuhay kayo ng naiiba - at malalaman ninyo ang mabuti - "kung ano ang makapagbibigay kasiyahan sa Kaniya".

Pangako ng Diyos sa nagbibigay kasiyahan sa Kaniya:

- Patuloy kang papatnubayan.

- Bibigyan ka ng kasiyahan sa buhay na ito gaya ng isang bukal ng tubig na hindi nawawala.

Maraming mga kaanib sa INC ang gumagawa ng pagbibigay kasiyahan sa Diyos - lumalakad ng matuwid, nabubuhay at pinapangasiwaan ang kaniyang pananampalataya na karapat-dapat sa Diyos, nagbibigay ng kaluguran at sinusunod ang kalooban, nagbubunga ng mga mabuting gawa, puspos ng pananalig, may kabatiran kung bakit kailangan niyang sumunod sa mga utos, at may malaking pagkakilala sa kahalagahan na mailapat ang sarili sa kagustuhan ng Diyos

Kung ang mga ito ay napagtatalagahan, susunod at mga biyaya, at mga pagpapala.

Hindi naman kailangan ng Diyos ang mga biyaya, bilang mga tao tayo ang mapagkailangan, tayo ang nangangailangan, kaya marapat lamang na kung gusto nating makamtan ang mga biyaya, ilakip natin ang pagbibigay ng kasiyahan sa Kaniya.

Ang payo upang maitaguyod ito ay - "maging malakas ka at huwag matakot". Ang halimbawa pa ng Bibliya ay si Haring Asa - na gumawa ng mga reporma, inalis ang mga diyos-diyosan; at dito'y nasiyahan ang Ama sa kaniya.

Ang Diyos ay hindi mapagkait, hindi Siya mahirap na magbigay - 'wag sanang mabigo ang mga lingkod Niya sa mga kailangan natin sa buhay. Sapagkat tinutulungan Niya ang mga may ligalig, nabigo at nabuwal, nagbibigay Siya ng sapat, nabibigay ng pangangailangan -- kung nakapagbibigay tayo ng kasiyahan sa Kaniya - gagaan lahat ng ating mga pinagdaraanan sa buhay, dahil kasama natin Siya.
